Sleeping well = health


(We receive the article below via an e-mail. This is in line with the Chinese way of health maintenance.)

Reasons for sleeping and waking up early.

Evening at 9 - 11pm:
is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music.
If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1am:
is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3am:
detoxification process in the gallbladder, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5am:
detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not tointerfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am:
detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9am:
absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10am rather than no meal at all.
Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals.

Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood.
Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

The top five cancer-causing foods are:

1. Hot dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease . The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency..
6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.

2. Not urinating in the morning.

3. Too much eating.

4. Skipping breakfast.

5. Consuming too much medication.

6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.

7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.

8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to 'schedule.'

练功者讲功效。没有功效也就淡不上疗效,这二者是相互依存的。没有功效的功法是不能永存的。

鹤翔庄气功的功效是每一个练功者比较关心的问题。如何提高功效,也是今后鹤功发展的方向问题。

为了互相交流经验,提高功夫和推动气功事业的发展,根据我自己练功的实践和赵老师的传带指点,谈一点自己的练功体会,供同志们参考。

功夫来源于哪里?我的体会是,功夫来源于鹤翔庄的理和法,来源于名师的传授和指点,来源于本人的刻苦练功,来源于练功人的品德和正念。即:中国鹤翔庄气功(一部功),中国自在气功(二部功),秘法内功(三部功)。一部功是鹤功的基础功。只有练好基础功才有利于进一步修炼和提高,所以在这里我主要就中国鹤翔庄气功(一部功)谈谈练功的体会。鹤功一部功是由三个部分组成的:第一部分就是五节动功;第二部分是站桩功;第三部分是八种辅助功法以及练功九十九问。鹤功的主要特点是:①动静相兼,调养相依;②得气快,整体疏通经络快,治病见效快;③普遍出自发功,并能想发就发,想收就收,自发自收,安全可靠;④动作简单,易学易练,易推广,练功占地面积小。下面从五节动功上谈谈自己的体会。

第一节: 六 方 和 合

这节讲的是人与自然界的六方和合,要求练功者要顺乎自然和宇宙混为一体。鹤功的每一招式都有它的独特作用,动作本身就是功,动作的规律就是法,有功就有效。预备功是鹤功的精华。所以“松静自然恬澹虚无”,实际就是放松入静,扶植正念,培养真意,打通任督二脉,开始后天返先天,为天地人合一,混为一体做准备。预备功也可以叫它放松入静功,也就是入门功。这就是练功的法。有了法,预备功本身也就是对人体进行了有序化的调整。有的人三、五天得气,气通尾闾,这就是功效。慢一点的半个月也能达到。三田的连通也都在功法之中。这就是预备功对初练者所起的功效。

这一节动功,根据人与自然界的关系,人体生理和中医的阴阳五行理论,为了补益真气安排了六方和合的动作。六方指的是天、地、东、南、西、北。六方和合不是平面的,而是立体型的一个空间。心中有没有这个形象是不一样的,这个形象就是混沌一团的庞然大物。在练功时面向南提翅以后,掌指上翘成90度,突出掌心,打通劳宫穴,来回柔力收推三次。这个动作是通南方的,这就是第一合。从五行上讲南属火,在人体五脏中为心,这个动作做好了,做通了,人体便与南方和合。和合后有什么反应,具体体现在身体的哪个脏腑部位,体查到了也就是达到了功理上的要求,功夫也就有了,心脏也就开始改变了原来不正常的状况。第二、三合,展翅这个动作左手通东方,右手通西方。在五行中东属木,西属金;在人体肝属木,与东方和合;肺属金,与西方和合。通过动作两手的劳宫穴与东西两方和合,对肝肺有利。二合、三合以后人体有什么感受,大家在练功中都有一定的体会。第四合是两手劳宫穴与北方相合。北方属水,在人体肾属水。四合相通还有中央,这个中央就是人,五行上“中”为土,在人体脾胃属土。土可以生长万物,中医讲脾胃为后天之本。那么人在当中是起决定性因素的。六合起的作用,大家都体会到:学功不到一周,食欲大增,体力好转。这是因对肾、脾、胃的真气进行了补充。第五合是通天合阳。双手捧气似球贯入百会,天为阳,人体头属阳,两掌心和顶心三心通天接受天体精华(即天上的三宝:日、月、星)之气,以天阳补人体之阳,使人体和天阳相沟通就是第五合。百会练通,天阳可以自动补入人体,得以健康长寿。第六合是通地合阴。地为阴,人体脚属阴,两掌心、两脚心、顶心五心通地,与地阴相接,以阴补阴。地的作用是很大的,地是生物所生存的地方。养花者都知道,在地上养花和在阳台上养花是不一样的。再如:黄山的迎客松、华山松的根长在岩石缝里,根固叶茂;山有多高,水有多高;最严重的污染如核爆炸后,地却能慢慢净化,最后生长出繁茂的植物。这说明对练功者同样具有这些作用;所以练功要选好地方。有些同志在坟地练功,在天主教堂墓地坟台上练功,结果出了问题,却不知什么原因,便以迷信思想解释,结果错上加错。练功者千万不要小看涌泉穴和地的关系(涌泉穴和腿脚还能预测气象)。六合相通了,这时人体是一种什么样的感觉呢?我的体会是练功中的沐浴。

上边讲的是六合,下面把六方和合当中的其它几个动作的作用讲一下。折翅腋下画弧成弓形,这是一种治病的手法。赵老师把这种手法叫做龙爪禅。你能用龙爪把病气抓出,这就是功夫。赵老师根据力学和西医牵引编排了上拔颈椎、上拔胸椎、上下伸腰椎的动作,调动整个脊髓的功能,可有病治病、无病强身。左右双回气这个动作,对开百合穴,打通中脉,连通三田,是不可缺少的,对治疗高血压、头痛有疗效。

这一节主要是打通劳宫穴、百合穴、涌泉穴、这三个经穴是人体与宇宙阴阳交换的重要穴位。其中劳宫穴与前后左右上下混元连通,是向外发气采气的一个重要穴位,它能收能放、能补能泻。百合穴是承接天阳,接收太空中之精华的重要穴位,吸天阳以养神。涌泉穴与地阴相通,吸地阴以养血,并能排泄病气,对人的长寿起重要作用。通过长期修炼,久而久之,人体就能与自然界相通(即混为一体),也就能借调宇宙之气。到那时候练功者就有了外气内收、内气外放的功能了,并为练自在气功打下了基础。所以,练这一节时,第一要劳宫穴的作用练出来,第二把百合穴、涌泉穴练通,第三把脊髓松开。据现代医学测定,人到三十五岁以后脊髓盘就开始硬化,松开脊髓打通了督脉,就能使人年青健康。督脉在人体生理上是神经中枢,总管人体的四肢百骸和五脏六腑,在古气功中叫金光大道,也可以说是上天梯(头为天),我想练第一节功能做到这三点,也就有功夫了。

第二节: 柱 地 通 天

这一节是在六方和合的基础上编排的,为的是进一步疏通上肢的经络,使体内气与体外气混为一体。

这一节在动作安排上,根据人体与自然界的关系,以开胸理气为主,太极为甚,疏通经络为本。“剑指通臂”是个锻炼发放外气的动作。练功者能不能发放外气,就在于臂指和大椎穴通不通。大椎穴总领阳经之首,对调整督脉特别重要。阳升阴降,通周天过玉枕关,这个动作练不到家气就不能集中到剑指上来,剑指发出的气就没有力量,就不能有穿透能力。“丹顶指”这个动作对大椎穴、百合穴、天目穴、山根穴、印堂穴进行了调整,练功有素者就会出现光环,对人体起到了美容、陶冶性情的作用。“展翅观天”这个动作主要是开胸张目,调整五脏六腑的功能,以阴中求阳,胸背相通,阴阳相抱,发力于背,开胸于前,这就是功夫。胸不开,人的潜能怎么练出来?心胸狭窄容不下宇宙,心肺的功能当然也激发不出来。关于张目的问题,赵老师在功理上讲一定要看到晴天。如果看不到晴天而只看到阴天,这说明还没有练到家。看不透云层不要急,只要持之以恒地练,功到自然成。这就是眼的功夫。胸前的穴位很多,通过这个动作要把它们打开,至于先开什么,后开什么,能不能练开,这与各人的具体条件而异,但膻中穴则是主要的。这一节对心脏病、肺病有明显的疗效。

“双回气”在五节动功中共有十个,是最多的一个动作,也是鹤翔庄气功的精华。“双回气”主要是开通天目穴和中脉。古气功叫天目为天眼,叫中脉为黄道,这就明确告诉后人,天目穴开合以后可以有超人的视力(这里的天目穴不是一点,而是三百六十度)。古语有云:眼观六路,耳听八方。用天目穴就能观察到人体的生态变化。中脉的形成和打通是一件很不容易的事情,鹤功从第一节就开始在这方面下功夫,安排了好多动作来开发这个禁区。中脉通了以后,人的很多潜在功能就能激发出来,发挥神通作用。“柱地通天”也叫顶天立地,是练功中头顶青天,脚踩大地,使天地人和一。这个动作由分三个环节:一是左右手拢气入胸。这是一个补气的动作,给别人补气就多用这个手法。通过拢气入胸进一步激发胸在人体上的功能。二是柱地通天。柱地的功夫很深,动作本身就是太极图。什么是太极?太极就是一阴一阳,阴阳互回360度,图形是一个大S。左右拢气各180度,两个半圆成一个圆;左阳右阴互回成S柱地,通天为阳,通地为阴,两手相交阴阳互回成S 形,通天无限远,柱地无限深,这个太极图是以我为中心,要多大有多大。大而无外,小而无内,这就看练的功夫了。它的功能可以调正阴阳,功力不仅是千斤坠,怎样体会全靠实践。

第三节: 鹤 首 通 关

“鹤首通关”在五行动功中是中间的一节。中间这两个字含义很深,为什么把这一节放在中间?五节动功中也分为上中下三个环节,从自然界来讲,上为天,下为地,加上东西南北,人为中间。赵老师为发挥人的主观能动作用,把“鹤首通关”放在中间。如果道德修养高,能达到忘我的境界;上下相通,内外相通,表里一致,内外一致,打通中脉,练成混元气,就进入了练功的高级境界。这一节就是达此目的的重要一环。引颈:下颏似鹤嘴,鹤性情恬静而不争,所以在练这个动作时要有“四静”的境界,不要有杂念。前点后收是为这个督脉的大椎穴和任脉的承浆穴,打通玉枕关,疏通百会穴,接通上鹤桥。沟通任督二脉是入门功,对人体的阳升引降起着决定性作用。这两条脉在人体的面部的龈交相会,经过三关,三个丹田。小孩在母胎中任督二脉是相通的,并靠其生长发育,生下来剪断脐带,张口哇的一声,任督二脉就分开了,人便开始了生长衰老的过程。要长寿,要返老还童,就必须接通任督二脉。摆头这个动作不一般,做好了,头脑清醒,精力充沛,活波喜悦,兴致勃勃。它能启动尾闾调动脏腑之真气,通过中脉贯通三个丹田,而承灵穴、百会穴和天阳相通,可对大脑进行调整,还能接收宇宙的信息。这节功讲到带脉。带脉在人的腰部。这条脉是比较难通的一条脉,前面从肚脐经过腰部到命门穴。命门是人的生命之门,是人的先天元精之舍,通过这个穴位内连五脏六腑,上达神府,用双手的外劳宫对准两个肾俞穴,命门夹在中间,左右双转胯,前后分成两个半圆成360度,来回三次。这是启动元精,打通冲脉,活跃生命力不可多得的动作,要真正转好。再就是大拇指按劳宫穴。劳宫穴属心包经络,三焦是人体真气交换的重要部位,封住劳宫以固住人体真气这就叫握固。它对人的生命线进行调理,起到了延长寿命的作用。三节贯通和气通关的动作中的“三节”,是指胯、膝、踝,“关”就是膝关。我的理解还有一层意思,那就是人体的上中下三节贯通和三田融会贯通,天地人混为一体,全身的气混为一体。只要全身的气畅通了,就能接收信息,发送信息,进行查病治病。

第四节: 仙 鹤 点 水

这节功是模仿仙鹤动作最多的一节,体现了仙鹤姿态舒展、轻柔的特点。

本节功可以说是气功中的大周天功。大周天从古到今,练功的人都认为不容易练通。而鹤翔庄功法却能练通。第四节,通过上下点水,从上到下,从头到脚尖,形成混元气场这是大周天。但功法中却没有讲大小周天的问题,因为鹤功练的是混元气,不强调大小周天。练功怎样才能形成大周天?我体会有两点:第一,这节功是修德养性,练真神、真意的。鹤翔庄功法讲功德,强调“德为功母”。真神、真意也就是人的正思维、正意识和灵通。什么叫神?中医上讲两精相搏谓之神,易经上讲阴阳不测谓之神,神是主宰人的生命活动的。中医有一句话:“神散意乱”。练气功就是要把神练圆。气功中讲的神是指正念,是意气形统一,一句话就是练功的意念。这里讲的意是心意、心神,神也就是人的元祖和识神。我们在练功中,心念一动是后天意识。开始是可以用后天意识启动先天意识,进入气功状态,这是正念。练功进入了新的境界,这时候的真意是先天的东西,不能动后天意识,否则用不好就会出偏差,练功者看一下或想一下都是邪念。练功由入静到定的时候是在练神,者时最怕的是后天意识,要让气自然运行,神气相抱,练到自己感到身体没有了,才能达到忘我的境界。者就是先天之神的作用,这时身体自我调节处于最佳状态,有病治病,无病肉体,这是任何一种药物也达不到的效果,其一分一秒的时间都是宝贵的,时间越长,效果越好。练功中杂念多就达不到这个境界,功力也提不高。所以道德涵养是练功的关键。如果不注意道德涵养,妄意妄为还可能出高级偏差。第二,做上下点水动作时,要四肢平衡。四肢是由人的小脑来控制的。以腰带动全身,以腰作为支柱。从动作上讲,升降补泻,阴阳平秘,上下点水,劳宫穴始终与天阳地阴相通,这样就形成了前后左右上下六方与全身相通,达到天地人混为一体。这节里有三个穴位:百会、命门、涌泉;三个部位:肩、腰和脚尖。肩的作用很大:一是肩松不了就发不出外气,气也到不了肘和十指上;二是肩是带动双臂的,带好了力就大,气感也强。腰在人体的中间部位,命门在此;腰还是带动全身运动的,腰不好,就站不起来。所以讲腰主宰全身。足是人行走的工具。人们常说这样的话:力发于足。我想练气功也是这样,千万不要小看足的作用。脚尖、指尖是三阴三阳交会之点,在鹤功中有它独特的作用。

有的同志在练功中感到人体高大,有顶天立地之势,或立于高山之巅,这种境界很好。这实质是升阳,身居世外,翱翔天空之感,是大周天的真气运行所表现出来的,也是这节功锻炼的效果。

我认为气功态中所产生的境界,是一定功力提高的表现,它不同幻觉,幻觉是后天意识形成的。气功境界是阴阳变化,是练精化气,练气化神的气化反映,是元神的表现,功练不到家是没有的,想也没有,幻觉想的再好,有害无益,甚至走火入魔。

在练功中能分开元神和识神就进入了高级功的门,辨清元神和识神就进入了中级功的门,有意念并能做到气随意行就进入了初级功的门。提高练功层次的关键是人的道德,为什么道德有这么大的作用?道是通道,是指宇宙万物运行的规律。《中国鹤翔庄气功》一书中讲练功要任其自然,顺乎自然,所以练功也要顺呼人身阴阳之道,使人处于无邪思,无妄为的清静状态。而一般人都因世俗影响,元神躁动,胡思妄为,精神昏迷不清,四肢忙于非为,使气血循环不轨,阴阳失去调和。

有道必有德,德是什么呢?德就是正,正就是无私,正大光明,无私就是无邪,无私才能忘我。现在我们讲的“五讲”、“四美”,就是道和德的总和。得道必有德,道和德是同步发展的。道要自己悟,德要自己修。

第五节: 混 元 归 一

前四节功,都是为混元归一作准备的。过去有句话:“练成混元气,天下全无敌”。现代科学推论,宇宙未形成以前混沌一团,在特定的条件下,宇宙大爆炸,形成今天宇宙的星系。混元气中包括万物生化的所需物质,也就是纯阳元气。混元也就是元精、元气、元神合一,练功的动作是为混元归一创造条件的。通过动作来达到上下一致,内外一致;使人体从有经络回到无经络感,达到人体混元,进而同宇宙元气结合为一体,混沌为一团,这才是混元气的最高境界。因为混元气是高能量的物质,可以转化阴阳,点化阴气,治疗各种病症。从练功的角度讲,练功也可以叫还原法,当然练功有素者就具有超常人的功能。

混元归一就是练丹。我认为前四节对人体奇经八脉和十二条正经的疏通,聚集真气,为练丹打下了基础;混元归一把体外体内元气混为一团,集中丹田。所谓丹就是真气压缩成的。丹也有由初级到高级的阶段。

左右调正这个动作,一只手背护命门是通过劳宫穴接收外气,与腰部、双胯、肾脏元气混为一团,用后天元气来补充先天元气的不足,另一只手放在肩上,这个动作起到了调整头部和胸部的作用,使上丹田混为一团。意念远,远就是通过劳宫来承接天阳。另一个作用是对双目进行了调整。只要认真做这节功,眼睛的穿透力就能激发出来。足运阴阳双手叉腰这个动作,十个手指按的部位都是促进穴位开合的。踢脚、脚尖绷直,向前踢的好了,踢出去的是一个混元气球,这个球进百会到下丹田;蹬脚跟,蹬出去的也是一个混元气球,它从身后进百会入下丹田。转踝关节,转时也是一个混元气球,脚回收时通涌泉回下丹田。踢、蹬、转混为一团,一踢一蹬一转是周天功,这也是功夫。

混元归一是第五节的最后一个动作,是最关键的一环,也是检查练功者能不能把体内、体外元气混为一团。十指划圆,划多大划的什么形状,可以看出练功者的奇经八脉和十二条正经以及五脏六腑的气练通了没有,能否混为一团。气是什么颜色的?你自己能看到气场圈或磁场圈吗?看到了就证明有了功夫。

再富,也要窮孩子

我们收到以下这一个有趣的电邮,因此将它发表与大家共享。


前些天,帶兒子去逛書局,他吵嚷著要我買一個精致、昂貴但不實用的鉛筆盒給他,最後我只買了一個麻雀雖小,五臟俱全的給他,他的嘴頓時呶了起來。接著,他看中一個設計小巧玲瓏,曲線優美,尺面圖案喧賓奪主地蓋過刻度的精美塑膠尺,但我買給他的卻是一把木尺。他的嘴嘟得更有"克夫"(curve)了。我不作聲,打算晚上臨睡前才透過故事開導他。

自升為人父之後,我一再提醒自己要貫徹一個與東方社會價值觀反其道而行的育兒理念─「再富,也要窮孩子!」但幾年下來,我漸感難於堅持下去,直到有一天我輾轉讀到南京大學一佈告欄上,一封署名為"辛酸的父親"寫給其上大學兒子的"匿名信"之後,才又深感無論如何都得貫徹這個理念。

這封信很有轉述的價值,摘錄如下:

親愛的兒子:

儘管你傷透了我的心,但是你終究是我的兒子。雖然,自從你考上大學,成為我們家幾代唯一一個大學生後,分不清咱倆誰是誰的兒子。

扛著行李陪你去大學報到,掛蚊帳、鋪被子、買飯菜票,甚至教你擠牙膏,這一切,在你看來是天經地義的,你甚至感覺你這個不爭氣的老爸給你這位爭氣的大學生兒子服務,是一件特沾光特榮耀的事。

在你讀大學的第一學期,我們收到過你的三封信,加起來比一封電報長不了多少,言簡意賅,主題鮮明,字跡通篇潦草,只一個"錢"字特別工整、而且清晰。

大二以後,從你一封接一封的催款信上我們能感受到,言辭之急迫、語調之懇切,讓人感覺你今後大學畢業時可以去當個優秀的討債人……。

最令我痛心的是,今年暑假,你居然偷改入學收費通知,虛報學費…,沒想到你竟也運用這招,來對付生你、養你、愛你、疼你的父親母親,僅僅為了能出入卡拉OK及酒吧…。

我一想起這事就痛苦,就失眠!這已成為一種心病,病根就是你─我親手撫養大卻又倍感陌生的大學生兒子。不知在大學你除了增加文化知識和社會閱歷之外,還能否長一丁點善良的心?

閱畢整封信,我想起妻懷孕時一位辛酸的父親,第一次上超音波做掃描時,我最關心的不是胎兒的性別,而是他到底是孤身上路抑或結伴而來─雙胞胎甚或四胞胎?

我執教的學校,有二男二女各取名為"歡、樂、新、年"的四胞胎兄妹。我常看到他們的爸爸拎著四份一模一樣的便當盒,在籬笆外分四次塞給四名可愛的孩子;而每次看到他們蹦蹦跳跳地回課室享用,便知道他們對便當的"內涵"相當滿意。我身為窮教員,如果孩子是結伴而來,我所能給他們準備的便當的內容,恐怕會顧得了量而顧不了質。

我之所有這種顧慮,主要受華人「再苦,不能苦了孩子!」的傳統觀念所影響。直到有一天,我那移居澳洲多年的老同學回國探親,及時給我來個當頭棒喝。

據他說,澳洲人民生活富裕,然而他們在信奉上帝之餘更信奉:「再富,也要"窮"孩子!」的教育理念。他們認為,在過份呵護下長大的孩子,將無法自立並且不懂感恩!

他回國的第二天,我陪他冒著風雨出外辦點事,他指著一個被包裹得像棉花團的華人小孩說:「孩子應當比大人少穿一件衣服!」他說在澳洲,即使冬天時也很難見到「棉花團」;如果是艷陽高照,母親們也會別有用心地、故意不撐開嬰兒車的遮陽棚。

我們東方家庭「再苦,也不能苦孩子!」的做法,看來有糾正的必要了。那天晚上,我思前想後,決定等將來孩子入學了,為他準備一些"其貌不揚"的便當,以窮他物質,富他精神。

我手頭上有這麼一則資料:美國費城納爾遜中學門口有兩尊雕塑,左邊是一隻蒼鷹,右邊是一匹奔馬。雕塑所要表達的不是我們耳熟能詳的鵬程萬里馬到成功,而是象徵一隻餓死的鷹和一匹被剝了皮的馬。

原來,那只蒼鷹,為了加速實現飛遍五大洲七大洋的偉大理想,練就了各種高超優雅的飛行本領,結果忘了學習覓食,只飛了四天就活活餓死了。那匹奔馬嫌第一位主人─磨坊老闆給的活多,就乞求上帝把它換到農夫家;而後又嫌農夫餵的飼料少,又要求與其他馬對調,最後到了皮匠家─不必幹活,飼料又多,好不愜意。然而沒過多少天,它的皮就被皮匠剝下來做了皮革!

由此可窺見,一個缺乏起碼的獨立生存能力及不懂感恩的人,無論他有多大的才華,日後有多了不起的成就,都不算是一個健全的人,都是一個生命有缺憾的人。

動物界有一套超越萬物之靈的育兒理念,許多動物在它們的幼兒很羸弱時,會把它的幼崽含在嘴或在翼下,怕它們遇險而夭折;但當它們的孩子長大些,它們會毫不留情地把孩子趕離自己身邊,讓它們獨自去經風雨、練本領,甚至不給孩子留下回頭路!只有這麼做,孩子才能經得起任何風浪之襲擊,才能夠絕處逢生。

含在嘴或在翼下和趕離身邊,都是父母對孩子不同的愛的體現,連動物也深懂「慣子如殺子」的道理。

再富也要窮孩子,才能逼孩子學習獨立前行,學會感恩惜福。畢竟…孩子的後半生我們不一定能參與……。

什麼時候我們應轉彎往原點的點呢?

1983年以前我和一般去美國留學的華人一樣,為在學術上能出人頭地,我早出晚歸。

我是醫學院神經外科的副教授,我是許多同僚醫生中最受歡迎的腦外科醫生,所以我的病人特別多。在美國時,一般的人很現實和精明,他們都會查問如果有護士或醫生需要腦神經外科醫生照顧的時候,他們會去找誰,他們把這樣一位醫生叫做〝 Doctor's doctor〞。

我就是許多醫生的腦神經外科醫生。因此我的病人最多,一年 365天要開360個病例,加上每天看門診、住院的病人,每年至少有5000人次,這樣可想而知我是多忙碌。

有時深夜歸家的途上,我會想到,我的兩位可愛的孩子不知道今天乖不乖?在學校有沒有問題? 我的心裡有時很虧欠,找不出時間在週末時應他們的要求一起去打棒球、騎馬或釣魚。

我只能自我安慰的說,我已經替他們的活動空間買下 四甲地的家園,他們可以找朋友來家裡玩、可以露營、可以游泳、可以爬樹摘花。比起我小時候的成長環境好多了。而且我要替他們存錢,繳最好的私立學校昂貴的學費;我要為他們存銀行的帳戶,做大學及研究院的教育基金;我要為他們每一個人設立一個信託基金,好叫他們中年以後做事業時有個基金;我要為年邁退休的父親設一個基金,所以他不必每個月向孩子們要錢,我要 ...。

有一個星期天我們全家上禮拜堂,主日學後因我內人有婦女會的聚會,我就帶兩個孩子去中國餐廳吃麵,然後送他們回家,我就馬上回醫院巡視病人。

在開車的路上,我的胸口開始感覺悶熱不舒服,於是我把那部完全自動控制賓士的坐位調整,窗戶打開來通風,我想胸口痛或許會改善。但是到了醫院,停好車走進急診處入口為止並不感到改善。我請在急診科的住院醫師替我做一個心電圖,結果是正常,剛好有一個心臟科專家走過,就請教他的意見,他看了我的心電圖,看了我的病例,也聽了我的心臟,就判定我要住院。

他的理由是:他及大家 (全醫院) 、全社區,不能冒險失掉一位像我這樣好的神經外科醫生。我辯論說,我的祖父 86 歲,我的父親67歲都健在,沒有家族病歷是心肌梗塞的。他反駁說,他們不是神經外科醫生,沒有我所受到的壓力。

結果我住進了心臟加護病房三天三夜,他們為我做了一套完整且近乎 10萬美元的檢查,檢查結果是認為說大概是中國麵湯中可能放太多味精而使我的冠狀動脈產生痙攣的現象,所引起的症狀,我沒有心肌梗塞或冠狀動脈硬化。

第四天早上,我從加護病房出院,就走到開刀房做手術。是責任感和榮譽感,既理性又感性地,我這樣做了。

但是,從此我的人生觀有了一個很大的改變。因為在住院的期間我看了很多書,其中一則是俄國文豪托爾斯泰的短文 ...
故事這樣說:

有一位農夫,早出晚歸耕種一塊貧瘠的土地,他勤奮的工作,午餐也顧不得吃,太陽要下山的時候,就嘆息時間太短,也常常自言自語的說: have to save something for rainingdays 。(我務必積蓄五穀,以備不時之需。)有一位天使聽到了,覺得農夫很可憐,就靠近對他說:「你很認真,對父母有孝行,對子女有愛心,對鄰居和睦相助,所以上帝要賞賜你更多的土地,讓你富足。今天,從這做起點,你能力所及的去跑,等你繞一圈子回到原點時,我會將圈圈以 內的土地贈送給你,讓你飽足。」

這個農夫真是高興極了,馬上就開始跑,也忘了帶飲水,只顧往前跑。當他跑了半個鐘頭後,往後看,啊!真高興,他想:我這輩子夠用了,這塊地所產的五穀能供我一輩子。他想停下來了,但是又想到這是千載難逢的機會,我應該為我的兒女再跑一段路,讓他們也有一點的家產才是,於是又跑了一個鐘頭,他又渴又累、汗流浹背。他往後看,離起點的地方已經很遠了,也許應該折回。可是他又想起了他的兄弟姐妹,他再往前跑了一段。他的胸口開始有一點悶熱,頭有一點暈。他開始想:唉!我畢竟年紀大了,身體狀況大不如從前,我退休了以後怎麼辦呢?也許我應該再多跑一點路。可是就在這個時候,他體力不支倒地,不久就死了,連回到原點的機會也沒有。當然,什麼土地都沒有得到。

故事的精神是說: 當人太貪心時,最終會變成什麼也得不到 。

從此以後,我修正了我的人生觀,我開始回轉,不應該像那農夫一樣貪婪不知足 。我每一年拿一個月的休假做義工,做短期的醫療宣教師,到醫療落後的國家服務或教學,也打算從55歲到65 歲獻給主用。

這期間使我有機會遇到了很多朋友和信仰的前輩,也學習到服侍人的樂趣。1984年在墨西哥的全世界基督徒醫師會議中,認識了手外科及痲瘋病專家Paul Brand 醫生,成了我的朋友。

1985年在拜訪 Sister Mother Theresa 時,學習到了她節儉的真理,她告訴我說「 Live Simple,so thousands of others can simply live」 -因我們的節儉,所剩下的資源可供給成千的貧困人繼續生活下去。

1986年我來門諾醫院當義工一個月,第一次和前院長 Dr.Brown 相處,有一天晚上他請我和內人去他家吃飯,我發現 Mrs. Brown 的手指頭因為花蓮的濕氣重而得了風濕症,並且有腦幹微血管的破裂出血。Dr. Brown也有手痛,因常吃Aspirin而有耳鳴和重聽。雖然如此,他們還是繼續為後山交通不便、醫療不發達的台灣人奉獻了前後將近有四十年之久的 時光。使我這個台灣人真感激又羞愧。

1990年薄院長退休回美國,連退休後的住家都沒有,這種捨己為人的情懷更教我佩服。1991年他在洛城接受台美基金會的台灣奉獻獎時,他呼籲:「我為台灣奉獻了這一生,我盼望台灣人,尤其是台灣的醫生也能像我一樣為自己的同胞,尤其是弱小無助的、需要人照顧的花蓮百姓服務,很可惜!台灣的醫生好像覺得到花蓮很遠,到美國比較近,沒有人要去花蓮,倒是很多人跑到美國來。」

他的這句話很扎心,對我來說,好像是在對我說的一樣,也更進一步的把我拉回到我起跑的原點 --台灣。我 1993年底回來接下薄院長的使命-去服侍最小弟兄當中的一位,就是服侍上帝。為原住民、為偏遠地區的人民健康來服務。

另一個意想不到的快樂是,我能在台灣頭部外傷頻率最高、死亡率最高的花蓮地區來應用我的專 長-腦神經外科。

天使沒有應允我土地,但是祂賜給我很多平安、給我豐富的生命、給我很好的健康。

親愛的朋友!我們都是跨越世紀的現代人,我們一直在往前跑。但是你有沒有想過:什麼時候我們應該轉彎往原點的點呢?

橄欖油自然排石法 您聽過嗎?


朋友的父親現年80歲,膽結石已有十餘年,最近石頭跑到膽管裡,身體疼痛,前往醫院做的生化檢查SGOT,SGPT,ALP,r-GTP,T-Bilirubin等肝功能指數異常偏高,經過橄欖油自然排石法,排出膽石之後,再次前往檢查,上述的肝功能檢查,全部都正常了。

在此將這項橄欖油膽結石排石法介紹給需要的親朋好友們,膽結石真的可以不用開刀,就可痊癒的事實,請大家告訴大家。

所需材料:

一、 冷壓橄欖油(cold pressed olive oil)約470cc(冷壓橄欖油,也是市面上賣場標示的EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL,一般EXTRA VIRGIN的橄欖油大都是冷壓的,即是可涼拌的橄欖油)

二、 10-12顆新鮮檸檬

(一) 注意事項:

1.清除結石當天,午餐吃飽以後,不可以再吃任何物,可喝些果汁或白開水,晚上6時以後,什麼都不可以吃,包括白開水。(如要喝果汁,最好喝蘋果汁,因蘋果汁有軟化石頭的作用)

2.將檸檬全數擠汁裝於容器中。

(二)進行程序:

1.晚上7時開始做清除,以湯匙(一般家庭用的瓷湯匙)量4大匙橄欖油於碗中,加2大匙新鮮檸檬汁,攪拌均勻喝下去,如怕油味太濃,可加3大匙檸檬汁。(有便祕的人,橄欖油與檸檬汁可多加些)

2.每15分鐘喝下上述橄欖油加檸檬混合汁,共計喝10次,直到全部喝完,歷時2個半小時。(如果10次喝不完,喝到喝不下去即可 )

3.喝完後,輕拍身體就寢,明早或是半夜,結石將由直腸順利排出,並無痛楚,排出的石頭,有綠色,紅色,黑色等,是花花的,會浮在馬桶內水上,可以用網杓網著沖水,您會發現又很多石頭。

(三)檸檬汁是軟化膽管的,橄欖油是使膽蘘分泌大量膽汁將結石沖出膽蘘排出體外。選擇使用橄欖油排石法,是因為療程短,又簡單,蘋果汁療程長,所需材料較多。橄欖油排石法確實簡單,療程短,又很快就見到效果,身體很快就恢復健康。最好請家人協助餵食,因為自己攪拌均勻自己喝會很膩,有家人協助餵食會好很多。

How to Prevent a Sore Throat from Progressing to a Cold

Although experiencing a cold or the flu once in a while can help rid your body of your weakest cells, I'm willing to bet that there are times when you would really prefer to delay such a period of cleansing and malaise.

Here's how you can stand a good chance of preventing a cold from developing:

As soon as you experience that sore, tickly feeling in your throat that precedes a full-blown cold, gargle with warm salt water.

And when I say gargle, I mean really gargle; take in a mouthful of warm salt water, look up at the ceiling, and gargle aggressively. You may want to tap at your throat (the Adam's apple region) with your fingers while you gargle to encourage the warm salt water to trickle deeply into your throat.

Gargle like this several times with a glass of warm salt water, and repeat as often as possible throughout the day.

Warm salt water can remove viruses from the tonsils and adenoids that line the back of your throat region. Viruses that cause colds and flus typically get caught by your tonsils and adenoids before they spread through your body. Your tonsils and adenoids are important parts of your immune system because they are located near the entrance of your breathing passages, and they serve as a first line of defense against undesirable airborne microorganisms and substances.

This, by the way, is why it is best not to remove tonsils and adenoids from your throat region. Chronic swelling of tonsils and adenoids is best addressed by reducing sugar intake, adopting a minimally processed diet that is rich in fresh plant foods, and supporting immune system health by getting plenty of rest, exercise, and exposure to sunlight and fresh air.

Cold salt water may also help to remove viruses from your tonsils and adenoids, but warm salt water tends to be more effective. Warm water may help to melt the fatty coating that protects viruses that cause the cold and flu.

What if you gargle for all you're worth but still end up developing a full-blown cold?

Get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take comfort in knowing that countless viruses are at work destroying your weakest cells. And don't forget to blow your nose as often as it runs; help your body get rid of what it wants to get rid of.

More that 30 years ago, a Mr Zhang who work in the public sale department of a Taipei Brewery, participated in the brewery overseas study selection examination, and passed with flying colours.
三十多年前有一位服務於公賣局台北啤酒廠的張先生,參加該啤酒場選派技術人員到國外深造的考試,以優異的成績及格。

Before going overseas during the physical examination at a public hospital, it was discovered that he has a tumour growth in his lung of the size of a child's fist, and therefore was not able to go overseas to study.
在出國前經某公立醫院體檢發現,罹患有像小孩拳頭大小的肺部腫瘤,因而不能出國。

The greatly disappointed Mr Zhang has always been suspicious that the diagnosis was wrong. So he went to another hospital for a check-up, the result confirmed that previous diagnosis was not in error.
張先生非常失望之餘,一直懷疑診斷有誤;於是再到另一家醫院檢查,結果還是證實原來的診斷並無錯誤。

For the youthful and healthy Mr Zhang to be stricken down with such terminal illness, in his despair, he rang his old classmate who at the time was Taidong County Government, Huangsun County Mayor's secretary, Mr Wei
當時年輕力壯的張先生得到這樣的絕症,在人生絕望之餘,多次打電話給當時任職台東縣政府黃順興縣長機要秘書的魏姓同學。

Mr Weil rushed to Taipei during his rest day on a Sunday to see Mr Zhang.
魏姓同學便利用星期日趕到台北和張先生見面,

Mr Zhang discussed with Mr Wei in details his despair and pessimism, and entrusted his friend regarding his affairs after his death. Coincidentally, Mr Wei was a good friend of Dr Lu Geling, who was in-charge of the Maijie Hospital, 1945-55, and specialised in the clinical research into cancer cases.
張先生向魏同學詳述相關絕望的詳情和悲觀感受,並請位同學協助其後事,恰逢魏同學與前任馬偕醫院院長1949-55年專精於癌症臨床研究的呂革令博士係知交好友。

He immediately suggested that Mr Zhang went and see Dr Lu for treatment. At first, Mr Zhang said he preferred not to consult anymore doctors, so as not to add further to his misery.
當即建議前往訪求呂博士醫治,起初張先生說不願再看醫生,以免徒增傷悲;

But Mr Wei told him that he had telephoned Dr Lu before to seek his advice and arranged an appointment. Mr Zhang felt obligated and went with Mr Wei to meet Dr Lu.
但魏同學說先前已以電話請教過呂博士並安排好時間,張先生只好偕同前往呂博士住處造訪。

When Dr Lu met with Mr Zhang, Dr Lu said: ' Mr Wei is a friend and introduce you and I to get to know each other. This is destiny. Thank you. Let me ask you do you know why is cancer referred to as terminal illness?'
呂博士和張先生見面就說:「魏先生是我的好友,介紹你和我認識是我們緣份,感謝。我請教你:『癌為什麼叫絕症,你可知道嗎?』」

Both Mr Zhang and Mr Wei did not how to answer.
張先生和魏先生都不知道如何作答。

Dr Lu explained: 'There are only two approaches taken by human to treat cancer to date. The first is to destroy the source of the disease. The second is the increase the capability to fight the disease.
呂博士又說:「人類醫治癌症到目前為止只有兩條路,第一條路是消滅病源,第二條路是增加抵抗力。

But the strange thing is that, cancer whether we use Cobalt 60 or other drug to destroy the cancer cells, however, before the cancer cells are killed, the good cells are destroyed first.
但很奇怪的是,癌無論用鈷60或其他藥物去消滅癌細胞,可是癌細胞還沒被消滅,好的細胞卻先被殺死。

On the other hand, no matter we use what nutrients or supplements, before the good cells have a chance to absorb them, the cancer cells have taken them up and it simply speeds up the grow of cancer.
另無論用什麼營養、補藥,好的細胞還未吸收,癌細胞卻先吸收、讓癌長得更快;

Therefore both approaches are doomed to failure, that is why cancer is terminal.'
因此可說上述兩條路都行不通、所以叫絕症。」

When I was conducting clinical research in Majie Hospital, I had many opportunities to work with and being helped by many colleagues in the Hospital. I discovered that the blood tests of 100% of the cancer patients showed that the blood sample are acidic.

Mr Zhang follow Dr Lu's suggestion and seriously alter his eating habits.
張先生依照呂博士的建議,認真改變吃的習慣,

Every day, he ate green algae, drank chestnut soup, be optimistic and doing appropriate amount of exercise, and went back to the same public hospital for a check up. It was discovered that not only that the tumour did not increase in size, on the contrary it showed signs of shrinking, and surprised the hospital staff conducting the check-up as a miracle. Five years later, the tumour s shrunk to such a state as to be almost disappear.

Following Mr Zhang, a Mr Chen Tianshou, who was previously Head of the General Administration of the Taidong Provincial Hospital, was similarly diagnosed with lung cancer.
繼張先生之後,有位前台東省立醫院總務課長陳添壽先生,同樣得到肺癌;

When Mr Wei heard of this, he told Mr Chen of the experience of Mr Zhang, and Mr Chen started to follow the instructions of Dr Lu to change his physical condition. The outcome was that he was able to recover fully from the cancer, just like Mr Zhang.
魏先生得知後將張先生的經過轉告陳添壽先生,陳先生乃依照呂博士的建議進行改變體質,結果與張先生同樣癒癌症。

At that time, Mr Lu and his family have emigrated to the United States. After the two cases, he returned to Taiwan and met up with Mr Wei.

Why does the body physical condition turn acidic?
為什麼會形成酸性體質?

1. Excessive intake of dairy acidic food 過度攝取乳酸性食品

a) meat, dairy products, eggs, beef, ham, etc are acidic food
肉類、乳酪製品與蛋、牛肉、火腿等皆屬於酸性食品。

b) taking too much acidic food will cause the blood to become acidic and viscous, difficult to flow to the end of blood vessels, leading to cold feet or knee, stiff shoulders and insomnia.
攝取過量的酸性食品血液會傾向酸性而變黏稠,不易流到細血管的末稍,而易造成手腳或膝蓋的冷寒症,以及肩膀僵硬和失眠等。

c) When one is young and strong, taking suitable quantity of meat is appropriate, but older people it more suitable to have a diet which are primarily vegetables or small fish.
年輕力壯時吃適量的肉類是對的,但老年人則以蔬菜或小魚為宜。

2) Irregularity in the pace of life will cause the body physical condition to become acidic
生活步調失常會造成酸性體質

a) Irregular pace in life will lead to mental and physical stress
生活步調失常會造成精神與肉體的壓力。

b) According to statistics, people who sleep late are more likely to have cancer than normal persons, by as much as 5 times.
據統計,晚睡者罹患癌症的機率比正常人高出五倍。

c) Human beings originally lead a life with regular tempo in this world, it is not possible to store up sleep or food and not possible to change the order of living by mixing up days and nights.
人類本來就活在節奏的世界裡,無法事先儲備睡眠或飲食,也不能日夜顛倒。

d) Human organs are controlled by the autonomic nerves, and during day time it is mainly sympathetic nerves activities, and at night it is mainly the parasympathetic nerves which are functioning, If this order is disturbed and reversed, then diseases will result.
人體內臟受自律神經控制,白天主要是交感神經活動,晚上則由副交感神經工作,若使其錯亂及倒置,就亦百病滋生。

3. Emotion over tensed 情緒過於緊張

a) Civilised society brings stresses
文明社會會造成的壓力。

b) Job related or mental stresses
工作上或精神上的壓力。

c) A person suffers mental stress, when the stress is removed and the person relaxes, sometimes this may lead to death, referred to as the syndrome of imperfect adrenal cortex function.
當一個人承受精神壓力後,一旦緊張鬆弛,時會造成猝死,稱為潛在性副腎皮質機能不全症。

4.Physical Stress 肉體的緊張

a) Before any operation it would be necessary to check to see if the renal cortex does function normally. If the adrenal cortex is lacking, or if the stress imposed by the operation exceeded the ability of adrenal cortex to cope, it could lead to death or other undesirable impacts.
動手術之前應先檢查腎上腺皮質機能是否正常。如果副腎皮質機能較差,或手術壓力遠超過副腎調整功能,則可能造成病人死亡或其他不良影響。

b) If it noted that patient's face is puffy, it would be necessary to inquire in detail the patient's medical history and medication status, for patients taking adrenal cortical hormone, extra care should be exercise when administering acupuncture.
若發現病患臉部浮腫,需詳加詢問病史及服藥狀況,為長期服用腎上腺皮質賀爾蒙者,施以針灸要特別注意反應。

c) Stress due to physical labour or exercise in excess, whole night card games, driving etc should be avoided as much as possible
勞動或運動過度,通宵打牌、開車等壓力都應盡量避免。

附錄:常見食物的酸鹼性

1. Strongly acidic food: egg yolk, cheese, cake make with white sugar or persimmon, mullet fish roe, dried cod.
強酸性食品:蛋黃、乳酪、白糖做的西點或柿子、烏魚子、柴魚等。

2. Mildly acidic food: ham, bacon, chicken meat, squid, pork, eel, beef, bread, wheat, butter, horse meat etc
中酸性食品:火腿、培根、雞肉、鮪魚、豬肉、鰻魚、牛肉、麵包、小麥、奶油、馬肉等。

3. Weakly acidic food: white rice, peanut, beer, alcohol, oil fried tofu, sea weed, clam, octopus, catfish
弱酸性食品:白米、落花生、啤酒、酒、油炸豆腐、海苔、文蛤、章魚、泥鰍。

4. Weakly alkaline food: red bean, radish, apple, cabbage, onion, tofu etc.
弱鹼性食品:紅豆、蘿蔔、蘋果、甘藍菜、洋蔥、豆腐等。

5. Mildly alkaline food: dried radish, soya bean, carrot, tomato, banana, orange, pumpkin strawberry, egg white, dried plum, lemon, spinach, etc.
中鹼性食品:蘿蔔乾、大豆、紅蘿蔔、蕃茄、香蕉、橘子、南瓜、草莓、蛋白、梅乾、檸檬、菠菜等。

6. Strongly alkaline food: grape, tea leave, grape wine, kelp sprout, kelp, etc. Especially natural green algae which contain rich quantity of chlorophyll are very good alkaline health food, but tea should not be drunk in excess, and best to drink in the morning.
